Timer on TransactionManager

lynnfang81
Hi All,

Has anyone ever implemented any timer on TransactionManager before? So
that if the time is up, then all running participants must be stopped
and maybe return a timeout response to the client? Any idea how to
implement it? Please advice. Thanks.

Lina

You can add a timestamp to your context implementation and have a
final participant check that timestamp and eventually return ABORTED.

You could also have an initial participant store a reference to
Thread.currentThread() and have a timer interrupt it, but this
does not guarantee you a safe abort (see
http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/guide/misc/threadPrimitiveDeprecation.html)
